| hi, quick Question. how hard it is it put recaptcha(or like) into the intial signup area? just like you have on the guest books etc I have been getting a few spammers through ourbabywebsite and am thinking i don't want this new one to create more. tim |

| Hi Tim, You can use your own custom signup form with captcha, just login thru your webmaster account and go to manage users, enable automatic signup and enter the full url to your custom signup form in that field. However, since captcha's are'nt 100% spam proof, Mygenesis has the IP blocking function that works very well keeping them out, just block the ip's that are spamming your registrations (it will send the IP address in your notification email and also logs them in Event Log) so when you get one go in and block that IP, once the bot is blocked it will not come back again. You login as webmaster go to the bottom of the Manage System Settings page and you'll see the IP blocking link. just follow the instructions there. Another foolproof way of keeping spam bots out is to get on a hosting server with a firewall, and block all spam bot IP's directly on your server.
